Open Water Scuba Diver Certification

The PADI Open Water Scuba Diver certification is the entry level scuba certification.  This scuba course is designed to teach you the knowledge and skills necessary to dive with another certified scuba diver.  It will require approximately 40 hours of home study and training to develop the knowledge and skills essential to dive safely with another certified scuba diver.  The scuba course consist of three elements:
  1. Knowledge development (class room),
  2. Skill development (pool training) and
  3. Open water dives
After you have completed the knowledge and the skill development elements of the course, you will be ready to take the required open water dives.  During the four (4) open water dives, you will demonstrate mastery of the skills you learned during the class room and pool training elements of the scuba course.

Scuba is an equipment intensive activity.  Your registration fee will include all scuba equipment needed for the course, all instruction, class room and pool training, and admission to the diver training facility (necessary for the open water dives).  The following is a list of items needed for the class:
  1. Text book materials,
  2. Mask, fins and snorkel,*
  3. Octo* (this includes primary first stage regulator, two second stage regulators, alternate regulator, depth gauge, pressure gauge, compass, low presser infiltrator hose)
  4. Air, all the class E compressed air you need for the course*
  5. Admission to the diver training facility*
  6. Wet suit rental needed for the open water dives

After you are a certified scuba diver you are ready to start new adventures by registering for the Adventure Diver program.
