The Scuba Camp Program has proven to be a fun and exciting opportunity for children who are comfortable in the water and have shown interest in aquatic activities. Your child does not have to be an outstanding swimmer. To participate, they must be able to swim and put their face in the water without discomfort. This scuba class is designed to introduce your child to the world of scuba diving. Participants 8 and older will learn how to breathe underwater, how to clear the regulator underwater, how to equalize their ears, how to communicate with hand signals and the basic safety rules governing scuba diving. Parent(s) are strongly encouraged to attend pool side during this 1 to 1-1/2 hour activity. NOTICE: Space is limited for each session, so do not procrastinate if you want your child to experience this opportunity. This service is available to you at no charge if you are registered in the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Department Summer Day Camp Program.
